Slashing Weapons - Gladius

Gladius (Slashing: One-handed) The gladius is a type of short sword with a wide two-sided blade. There are deep channels called fullers running the length of the blade. It has a wooden or metal hilt that is flat at the grip side and roughly triangular early on, with the flat curving to fit the hand later.

Note: The gladius are popular with Proeliators and other heavily armored fighters.

Equipping: A gladius is equipped in one hand by removing the guard and pulling the blade from the scabbard by the hilt.
