Medieval Fantasy RPG Rules (Riding a Mount)

riding physical mountRiding a Mount into Combat: Riding a Mount into combat is a skill that allows you to ride into battle on horseback and also to do some tricks and other special maneuvers available only on a combat trained mount.

Effect: You cannot use the skills below unless you are trained to ride a mount into combat even if you have riding.

T-35: Move on horseback while attacking
T-40: Get a mount to come to a whistle or other single cue
T-45: Buck an unfamiliar rider (unless commanded not to)
T-50: Follow from a distance
T-55: Sense Intrusion
T-60: Ignore a nonlethal wound
T-60: Ride into a Dangerous Combat
T-65: Track their rider if lost
T-75: Use a magical combat device designed for mounts
T-80: Spur horse to give it Immunity to fear (Duration: Combat)

(*1) This is only to land without spooking or upsetting the horse causing it to buck. See jumping for the required jump roll if any.
Modifiers: (Reduce)
+10 - Trot (x2 movement)
+10 - Carry a unsure load like a 2nd rider.
+35 - Gallop (x3 movement)
+40 - Carry a shifting load like an unconscious person.
+50 - Navigate Common Terrain.
+65 - Run (x4 movement)
+100 - Navigate Uncommon Terrain.


Note: Only medium range attacks or longer can be used while on horseback or against someone on horseback unless you are riding the same horse.
