Cuirass - A cuirass is made up of a chestplate and a backplate each made of heavy metal armor and connected to form seamless protection of the torso.

Optional (Decoration): Cuirass are often etched, gilt, engraved, chased, embossed, or enamelled. These etchings can often represent military or noble rank.

Optional (Culet): This small horizontal lamé can be attached to the small of the back to protect the lower spine and buttocks.

Equipping: Cuirass are equipped by donning the backpiece and strapping it to the cuirass. This typically requires assistance.
