Heritage Slashing Weapons - Cinquedea
Cinquedea: (Piercing - One-handed) This long dagger has a heavy blade covered in decorative etchings of holy symbols. It is about 18" long and the point is tapered to a somewhat rounded edge. The grip has a small pommel, and the guard is curved with the concave side toward the point. There are several furrows or small indentions along the wider sides of the blade to lighten the weapon. The name means "five fingers", and it describes the width of the blade next to the guard. It is carried horizontally on the waist so that it can be drawn laterally from the back.
