Heritage Slashing Weapon - Falcata

Falcata: (Slashing - Switch) The falcata is a sword that has a one edged blade that pitches forward towards the point which gives it the momentum of an axe while maintaining the cutting edge of a sword. The hilt is hook-shaped, the end often stylized in the shape of an animal. There is often a thin chain connecting the tip of the hilt with the upper section.

Note: The overall quality of the falcata comes from the quality of the iron. Steel plates are buried in the ground for two to three years, corroding the weakened steel from them. The blade is then made from three laminas of this steel, joining them in a bloomery. Their blades are often decorated with maze-like symbols and other ornamental decorations.

Equipping: A falcata is equipped in one hand by pulling the blade from the scabbard by the hilt.
