Description: This narrow collar of metal plates is 36" long and made of solid nickel silver plates joined together with steel rings. It has a light green aventurine gemstone at the bottom with a scale weighing coin against gems. It is equipped by slipping it over the head and tucking it under armor or other outerwear.

: Merchant's Chains are given and worn to designate a member of the merchant's guild. The chain can be shown to allow a person to buy and sell goods to another merchant without paying tax on the item. They also allow a 1% discount on items purchased for crafting and can often also be used to barter to further save since their presence means the person is almost always well versed in the prices of items causing many merchants to lower their prices slightly. Merchants who have honored the arrangement will expect the same discount in return if you sell them items. Most crafters find that a merchant's chain is nessecery to manage the already high cost of crafting items. Be aware that using a merchant's chain without being a member of the guild is considered tax fraud which is usually punished by public flogging and 2 years in prison under hard labor.
