Linguistics I: You can attempt to understand up to fifty words of writing or speech in a language or form that is unfamiliar to you. Through exposure to the way languages are put together you can decipher meanings even if you do not speak the language at all.

Note: This check is made secretly and if failed by 20 or less no conclusion or a partial conclusion may be drawn. If failed by more then you may believe in an incorrect solution.

Effect: You gain +20 to linguistics.

PHILOSOPHY

Our philosophy is that the rules should add to the fun or get out of the way. Our system encourages you to be creative. It doesn't try to diminish your natural ability to role-play, it enhances it. Opportunities to advance your character and gain an edge on your opponents abound in our system, take advantage of them when you can. See Tactics
